Process

I was really excited to start this project because it was so different from the other missions we had already done. I had only ever edited a video once before in my Introduction to Digital Media class however so i felt confident enough in that i would be able to get it done to a decent standard. I had really enjoyed editing the video in class so I was definitely looking forward to getting a chance to do it again. Knowing the resources and videos from the class were there was also very comforting going into this project.

I found it quite hard to pick a topic for this mission as i struggled with understanding the briefs with most of the topics and i did have to ask around to try to figure them out, compared to the last missions which i felt were a lot easier to understand. Originally i had wanted to do mapping but later decided i would prefer to do Image visualization. After finally making my decision i was able to form my group and get to work.

I met with my group and we decided on our goals for this mission, this was a little bit more difficult to do because we were all from different groups so our schedules didn't match up as easily as in the previous missions. We all agreed that in this project we wanted to learn about what image visualization is, learn how to make and edit a video more confidently using premiere pro and to show how we can visualize images differently.

We started our research by looking at the links provided on the cdm website and the suggested tasks given. This was extremely helpful in us figuring out where we wanted this project to go and again similar to in the last two projects we then split the workload so that we could continue the research separately again due to the distance and also being in different class groups.

We then met up again to share our findings and begin piecing together what we would actually use. This was a little bit harder than before because instead of just sticking facts in a power point we had to really think and work together to figure out how we could show these things visually in our video.

We decided the best way to show how to use the resources we found was to screen record us actually doing it and then to put a voice over on later explaining what is actually happening in the video.

We recorded our voice over using the voice memos in my phone as we couldnt get hold of a microphone and i knew from the first mission when i did a podcast the audio quality would be decent. Then we used premiere pro to edit all of our sceen recordings together and put a backing track and the voice notes over it.
