Product

The product of this mission was a power point presentation and a podcast. Myself and my group had met up to discuss what we wanted to do for this and decided to make the power point first and then focus on the podcast later on. In our power point presentation we wanted to elaborate on what digital audio is and the go in depth into the history of it and how it has developed and evolved over the years.

We found out what digital audio is and how different sounds that we hear everyday are used in different apps or technologies and also how they can be used for sound effects in movies, tv shows and even songs.

After we each went our separate ways to collect our research we then met up with all of this information, shared what we had found and then it was all put together into our power point presentation. We revised the presentation again at a later date to make sure there were no mistakes and that it looked how we wanted it to.

Another while later we met up to record our podcast. In our podcast we wanted our listeners to get to know us so we decided our main point of focus would be "Do you believe that everything happens for a reason and that you're given a path in life where everything is set out for you?"

In the beginning we had tried to set out sub-categories that each of would talk a bit about however we quickly realized thhis wouldnt work as it gave the podcast a very forced feel. Instead we decided to just talk about how we felt about this topic and to just let the conversation flow naturally. When we were recording the podcast at first it took a few tries to actually even get into it because we were all so nervous so we would either laugh, stutter a lot or just completely mess up our words. Thnkfully we got there in the end though.

We used our voice memos on our phones to record the podcast because sadly we couldnt get hold of a proper microphone. The quality was still good even without professional equipment. we then used audacity to edit the audio and thankfully our final recording was pretty much what we wanted so there wasnt too much editing to do just cutting out some long silences and awkward laughs and stutters.

After we decided we were happy with both the power point and the podcast we added a snippet of  the audio of the podcast to the end of our presentation to show our classmates. We met up one again just before the presentation to practice and make sure we were all comfortable with what we had to say and do.

Mission 3 Methodology Reflection I believe this mission was a success. We were able to hit all of the goals that had set for ourselves and everything in the mission brief. I really enjoyed this mission because it was so different to the others we have done previously. I loved getting the opportunity to develop my editing skills (which are still not great but have improved) and this has genuinely given me a new interest in editing. Its now something that i would consider messing around with in my spare time just to see what im capable of and how much i can improve. If I was to do this project again i would have liked to maybe get some real life clips recorded and put into the video just to break up all of the screenshots and screen recording and just bring some life back into the video. mission 1 digital audio {reflection}

Mission 1 Creativity Reflection Looking back on this project i would say I am quite happy with the outcome. I went into this project very nervous as it was the first group project of the year. I tried my best to keep an open mind through the nerves at the beginning. I soon realized there wasn't actually much to be afraid of. At first i was very nervous of having to work with people i didn't know but thankfully i ended up in a group with two people who were so nice and easy to work with. Splitting the workload evenly was something that made the experience a lot more comforting aswell, knowing i had as much a part to play as the others and that if i needed help they were there to work with. I really enjoyed making the podcast and found it extremely interesting getting to understand the behind the scenes of how a podcast is recorded and edited.
